The tour exceeded our expectations. Mum and I had a wonderful holiday. Mum is saying that it is the most interesting holiday she has been on (and she has been on many!) We are so glad that we did a land tour and not a cruise as we could appreciate the many different and exciting landscapes of the country. There were lots of highlights such as the glacier tour and the icebergs on diamond beach, the different waterfalls, a late evening walk around the lake at Egilsstaoir, the wonderful rock formations and of course the delightful puffins. We also enjoyed seeing how the landscape inspired the architects and artists and were lucky to see a lovely exhibition at the Textile Museum. The insight into how Icelandic people lived pre-war, their turf houses and farms and fishing boats – all painted a very strong picture of settler life and culture. Fanney, Thorstein and Ella took great care of us and indeed were very caring, looking after us all so well and nothing was too much trouble. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed all the walks and they broke up the time in the coach very well. At all the hotels we found the food excellent and a good choice for breakfasts too. We also enjoyed the company of the group – there was a great atmosphere at dinners and on the bus.

What a wonderful introduction to Iceland we had! Thank you so much for organising such an interesting itinerary with such a variety of places to visit. It is hard to pick out a particular highlight, we saw and did so many amazing things and have so many special memories. There were a couple of very long days but we would not have wanted to miss out anything! The silver brooches are a very special momento of our trip and your letters are always so friendly. You have an excellent guide and driver in Fanney and Thorsteinn. Fanney provided us with a wealth of information about what we were visiting and Iceland in general. We enjoyed the variety of hotels and getting home cooking in some of the farm hotels as well as more restaurant-style food. We were also very impressed with the Settlement Exhibition, it was really amazing to see the excavated Viking longhouse and they offered an excellent guided tour at no extra cost. We would definitely like to make a return visit to Iceland and are seriously thinking of booking on your 2026 tour to the North West! Once again, many thanks for such a memorable trip.

I must let you know what a fantastic time I had in Iceland, I knew it would be good but it exceeded my expectations! Fanney was an exceptional guide - very knowledgable, kind and entertained us with so many facts about Iceland, its geology, its people and delivered in an interesting way and often injected with some humour. Oli’s driving skills made us all feel comfortable and he was very helpful. This was a busy 11 days of touring and it was a perfect balance of travels, stops and visiting interesting sites. The ‘drinks’ ending the day on the busy plus nibbles and snacks en route was a very nice addition. I bought a beautiful Icelandic hand knitted cardigan which I love. I hope that I will be able to visit Iceland again either the western wilderness or the winter tour!

What a wonderful holiday in every respect. Firstly, Fanney and Oli were fantastic- excellent and friendly in every part of our trip. Fanney told us Icelandic tales, answered all our questions and kept us well informed. We saw some of the most amazing landscapes we have ever seen, superb waterfalls, beaches, rock formations and glaciers. Our eyes were always glued outside the bus - Keith spotted the one reindeer we saw. The tomato farm with the soup and bread was definitely worth the stop. This was definitely THE tour of Iceland we have wanted to do for some time. Our memories are good and solid and will last well and our photographs show us what an amazing country it is. Thank you for helping us to discover that.

We had a fantastic helicopter flight over the erupting volcano with Peter and Penny this morning. Our dinner last night was memorable and everyone enjoyed it. The whole trip has been full of memorable experiences and there were several highlights every day. We were very well taken care of by Fanney, Óle and Ella. Everyone we have met in Iceland has been kind and helpful. Thank you again for planning the whole amazing journey.

The holiday was a wonderful experience, I enjoyed it immensely and definitely will be coming on another Jona tour. It was so well organised, such attention to detail and we were so well looked after. Fanney is an exceptional guide! Fanney, Oli and Ella certainly worked hard to ensure the holiday went smoothly. It was a packed itinerary and really made the best of our time in Iceland. It was a lovely friendly group. The last evening celebration dinner was very special, it was the “Icing on the Cake” This is not a criticism in any way but you have asked for comments so these are mine. Once again thank you so much for a wonderful tour!

First of all what a wonderful trip - we didn’t know what to expect but Iceland as a whole far exceeded our expectations! Can you please pass on our thanks to Fanney and Thorstein for making it a most memorable trip - so many highlights. They both looked after us so well. We learned so much about Iceland, the history and the people and, of course, the sagas and folklore. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and driver. On the whole it was really well organised and we feel like we packed a lot in which was great. The photo stops to break longer journeys were ideal. Hotels were good and the food was excellent.
— Sheila - Iceland Summer Ring Tour 2024
All the holiday, and I mean ALL of the holiday, was so very enjoyable. Fanney the guide was very good in letting us stop at lots of places for photo stops. The balance between the coach ride and getting out to see the sights was just right. I was interested in the geology, which was why I wanted to come. So that was of course satisfying. I enjoyed the trip on the glacier, quite an experience! I also liked bathing in the geothermal bath. The museums were excellent, I particularly liked the Lava museum. The group of people all blended in well and I felt we were all friends by the end.

A message to say how much we enjoyed our trip to your wonderful Iceland. Lucky you to live in such a special place in the world. The tour showed many of the places that intrigue me. It was also a pleasure to meet so many like-minded travellers. I am going to keep a close eye on what happens to the country of Iceland in the future and who knows maybe another visit.
— Barbara and Philip - Iceland Summer Ring Tour 2024
The holiday was all that I had hoped for and much more! I was impressed with everything: your choice of very comfortable hotels in lovely locations, the variety of different experiences, and the very efficient and caring organisation of the journey and the events; I felt that we were really well cared for. I loved the helicopter ride it was so exciting. To stand on the actual volcano was mind blowing! Thorstein was such a safe driver and Fanney was such an excellent guide; I was so impressed with how she got to know each of the group and her unfailing patience. I thought that our group was just the right size; we were all able to get to know each other, find out what we had in common and make friends. Thank you again, for my wonderful Iceland experience!
— Jacky - Iceland Summer Ring Tour 2024
Thank you for our fascinating tour around Iceland, everything was so well organised for us. Fanney the guide did a brilliant job keeping us entertained with folk lore stories and pointing out the places of interest on the journey. We’re glad to have been fortunate enough to have experienced such a wonderful country in such good company.
— Brenda & David - Iceland Summer Ring Tour 2024
Thank you so much for organising such a tremendous tour. So many things packed into such a short time. Nature, archeology, crafts, history, lifestyles and much much more. Fanney was amazing with such a diverse group. She catered for all our needs and quirks. My memories will be of the amazing colours round every corner the fragile life existing in some areas the strength of the Icelandic people and all round wonderful holiday.
Finally the helicopter was amazing realising there had been eruptions not long ago! I could go on for ever and as I recover from the trip so so many fantastic images keep popping into my head.
Thank you so much again for all the thought and generosity you put into organising the trip.
