Experience the magic of Sicily and the enchanting Aeolian Islands on this carefully designed 11-day tour, showcasing some of the Mediterranean’s most captivating landscapes, cultures, and historic treasures. From elegant coastal towns and ancient ruins to volcanic islands and sparkling seaside scenery, this journey reveals the very best of southern Italy’s island heritage.

Our tour begins with five nights exploring mainland Sicily, staying first for two nights in the historic coastal town of Marsala in the west of the island, followed by one night in the hilltop town of Enna and then two nights in elegant Acireale between Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea.

On Day 6, we travel by hydrofoil to the Aeolian island of Lipari, where we spend three nights enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and distinctive character of island life. Returning to mainland Sicily for the final part of the tour, we stay for two nights near Palermo in the peaceful coastal town of Santa Flavia before our departure home.

Beginning in Palermo, Sicily’s vibrant capital, we encounter a fascinating blend of Arab, Norman, and Baroque influences reflected in its architecture, markets, and lively streets. Travelling west and then east across the island, we discover dramatic landscapes, historic towns, and some of the Mediterranean’s most remarkable cultural treasures, including the magnificent Valley of the Temples and the elegant seaside town of Taormina with its spectacular Ancient Greek Theatre overlooking the sea.

A highlight of the journey is the Mount Etna region, where Europe’s highest active volcano dominates a landscape of lava fields, vineyards, and hilltop villages. Along the northern coastline, we also visit the picturesque town of Cefalù, celebrated for its medieval charm, Norman cathedral, and beautiful seafront setting.

The tour continues by sea to the breathtaking Aeolian Islands, a UNESCO-listed volcanic archipelago rising from the Tyrrhenian Sea. From our base on Lipari, we explore islands shaped by fire and sea, including Vulcano and Stromboli, whose famous volcano still lights the night sky with regular eruptions.

Throughout the tour, you’ll stay in carefully selected accommodation, enjoy authentic Sicilian cuisine, and experience the warmth of southern Italian hospitality. Combined with expert guidance and scenic journeys through some of Italy’s most dramatic landscapes, this memorable holiday reveals the rich history, vibrant culture, timeless traditions, and natural beauty that make Sicily and the Aeolian Islands such extraordinary destinations.
