I feel a but tearful at ending this tour which has been marvellous in every way. The group and Fanney and Thorstein were all great. The activities kept us busy, but not too busy, we saw so much it was a brilliant introduction to Iceland. I enjoyed all the food and the snacks that Fanney offered each day. How to pick a favourite of anything is difficult because I enjoyed everything. Obviously seeing the northern lights was amazing and on the first night and then again a couple of days later. The thermal pool we visited was up there and I think much better than the blue lagoon we briefly visited (less busy). I loved the mud pools and geysirs, phenomenon i had never seen before . I could go on and on. I appreciated your communications and felt completely looked after at all times. I think you have everything spot on and will certainly recommend you to my friends.

What a wonderful holiday we had, so lucky with the weather and the Northern Lights. Everything went perfectly. I loved the drinks on the coach! A friend asked me today what the highlight of the holiday had been and I found it very difficult to answer. Obviously seeing the Northern Lights was up there, but the visit to Hrisey was special, and just the scenery everywhere....

Thank you. It was a great holiday. Excellent guide and driver, nice group with lots of room on the coach, wonderful weather and amazing sites. Yes – we were very lucky. I enjoyed the herring museum, the lava one , the stone museum Hrissey was lovely. We had good local guides everywhere. I loved the Myvatn hotel, especially the unusual foods! The goodies and drinks on the coach were nice – a lovely idea. A lovely holiday.

We’ve been back from our amazing Northern lights tour for about 3 weeks now and it makes me smile thinking of the wonderful experience we had. I have totally fallen in love with Iceland and would love to revisit one day. I know we were extremely lucky with the amazing weather and aurora activity. I loved the trip. A few of my highlights were: The snow covered beautiful winter scenery, the frozen lakes, the Mývatn nature baths. Fanneys pantry (we loved all the sweet and savoury treats passed around the bus) Fanneys bar (I didn’t think I would participate, but we really enjoyed our daily ‘happy hour’ tipple on the bus). The small group. The empty roads. I could go on! I love swimming and walking, so I would love to return to Iceland one day to explore more of the pools and get out walking on the ice and snow. Thank you for arranging the trip for us, and hopefully I will get to revisit.

The holiday in Iceland was nothing like any holiday I have had in the past! I have usually gone to the sun so the wind and cold in Iceland were quite a shock. However, the sun did shine for us nearly every day for the first week and indeed we saw the Northern Lights so for that reason alone my holiday dreams were fulfilled. Fanney was wonderful, very informative and helpful. And I couldn’t leave out Thorsteinn. After lunch, when we were all dozing off, the poor man had to keep awake to drive all of us miles and miles to the next destination. He was so kind to us with the cases. This holiday was my last, mainly because of my health. Keep doing what you are doing - it works well.

Iceland is amazing - a stunningly beautiful country and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Fanney and Thorsteinn provided an excellent service and are a credit to you. And to see the Northern lights on three separate occasions was a real bonus. I want to reiterate that we’ve all fallen in love with Iceland, and Sarah and I are so looking forward to our next adventure in the Western Wilderness, which we’re sure will be just as spectacular.
— Helen - Winter Northern Lights Tour 2025
This was our first trip to Iceland and it didn’t disappoint! We couldn’t have been looked after better than we were by Fanney and Thorsteinn. Fanney is a wonderful guide, full of enthusiasm and information and very thoughtful and caring. Thorsteinn is an excellent driver and also very knowledgeable. His calm, competent driving made us all feel very safe, and if he said we weren’t going on a particular section of road, then we knew that it was the right decision. Make sure you keep them both in your team! We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights what a wonderful experience that was! Other highlights included the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, and two waterfalls – the Skógafoss and Goðafoss. We love the stunning scenery, and when the sun is shining and the land covered in a blanket of snow, you can’t beat it. The Reykjavik church is fabulous, and it’s nice to see a church that has been kept very simple inside – nothing ostentatious like some of the Catholic churches in southern Europe! Overall we loved the trip that you had put together and would thoroughly recommend it to anybody. We’d happily travel with you again!

What a wonderful holiday! As soon as we got home our first thought was to thank you and your superb team for the happiest and most enjoyable holiday we can remember. We loved Iceland when we visited in the summer and loved it even more in the winter. The guide and driver were beyond praise. Jona Tours has two very satisfied customers and I am sure we will be back again. Again, thank you for your friendly approach and attention to every detail.

Thank you and your team for an amazing holiday. Our driver and guide are a great pair of characters with a wonderful sense of humour and a fantastic amount of knowledge about their country. The weather was superb and enabled us to see the lights 3 times. The itinerary was a great mix of ‘heavy’ and ‘light’ visits which showed your country in all it’s glory. The group were tight knitted together from the start and we got on so well for the whole of the holiday. We will certainly look at joining you again for another holiday.

Both Tim and I are more and more overwhelmed by the wonderful enormity of what we experienced. We have been re living every amazing moment via our photos. Our individual reminisces and now Tim’s writing up of a diary. Each day I’ve felt the effects of our trip.... More than ever , we feel that deep connection to the Earth with all its power and grandeur, beauty and rawness, strength and turbulence and yet deep peace and stillness. Quite simply thank you Iceland and even more so, thank you dear Jona. Thank you for all your generosity and for helping us feel your passion for such a special place. It will forever be in our hearts. well that was very special.
— Angela & Tim - Northern Lights Tour
Wonderful, amazing, incredible, fabulous, I don’t think I have ever used those
words so often as I did on our recent holiday to Iceland, from Oli’s brilliant
driving, to the wonderful scenery and places we visited. Highlights were the
breathtaking ride up the mountain and the icebergs on the beach, and we saw the northern lights and the eclipse!
— H and P. Sills. Northern Lights Tour
Thanks very much for your letter and more importantly thanks for organising such awonderful trip to Iceland. Beverley and I had never been before and the tour was a marvellous introduction to the country. We obviously had some luck seeing the Northern Lights three times but there was so much to enjoy apart from that. We have been telling our friends and family all about the trip since we’ve been home and we would recommend it without hesitation.
